In the last blog, we talked about how to wash and bleach your clothes. Next, we talked about how to dry, iron, and dry clean your clothes.

Dry your clothes

Determine when to use the dryer to dry your clothes. If your clothes have a square on the Clothing Wash Care Label and a circle inside, dry them with a roller. Think of a square with a circle as your dryer to help you remember the meaning of this symbol. You can dry your clothes as usual without any special consideration.

If this symbol contains a point, dry at a low temperature.

If this symbol contains two points, dry at medium temperature.

If this symbol contains three points, dry at a high temperature.

Identify when not to dry your clothes in the dryer. If there is a dryer symbol passing through X on the Clothing Wash Care Label, please do not use the drum to dry your clothes. Using a dryer may damage your clothes, so be sure to hang them up, dry them with a line, or dry them flat. Look for other symbols on the label to help you decide which method is the best.

If there is a square symbol on the Clothing Wash Care Label, please air dry the clothes. This symbol means "natural drying". Do not use a dryer or other methods.

If the symbol contains a semicircle connecting the two top corners, hang the clothes on the clothesline to dry.

If the symbol contains a horizontal line in the middle of the square, place the item flat to dry.

If the symbol contains three vertical lines in the middle of the square, the item needs to be dripped and dried.

If the symbol contains two diagonals in the upper left corner, the item should be dry in the shade.

Iron your clothes

If you have an iron-like symbol on your dress, iron it flat. This is easy to remember because the symbol looks like an iron. You can iron it as usual without any special consideration.

If the symbol contains a dot, iron it at a low temperature.

If this symbol contains two dots, iron at medium temperature.

If this symbol contains three dots, iron at high temperature.

Determine when to steam iron. If there is an iron symbol on the Clothing Wash Care Label with an X on it and a line at the bottom, please do not use steam ironing. Think of the lines coming out of the iron as steam or water to help you remember the symbol. Use only dry heat, as steam may damage or destroy the fabric.

Identify when you can't iron. If there is an iron symbol with an X on the Clothing Wash Care Label of the clothes, please do not iron the clothes. If the item has wrinkles, dry it with a roller if the label allows. You can also hang it in the bathroom and take a steam bath at the same time, which will help eliminate wrinkles.

Dry cleaning your clothes

If there is a circle on the Clothing Wash Care Label, dry clean the clothes. Send clothes to dry cleaners instead of washing or drying at home. Under normal circumstances, the fabric with this sign shall not be stained with water. Water and high heat may damage or destroy the fabric.

Determine which solvent to use during dry cleaning. If there is a circle with letters on the label, dry clean it with a specific solvent. This letter tells dry cleaners which solvent to use for this particular fabric. The letter a indicates that any solvent can be used, the letter F indicates that only petroleum solvent can be used, and the letter P indicates that any solvent other than trichloroethylene can be used.

If there is a circle with an X on the Clothing Wash Care Label, please do not dry clean. This means that the item cannot be dry cleaned. Check the label to see if you can wash and dry the garment at home.
